Hello, Master. I'm Kunitomo. Well, first, take a look~ This right here's a Kunitomo gun! Look at how sleek it is! Hah~ I really am amazed every time I see it~ This gun is basically the meaning of beauty in practicality. It's said that there are more Kunitomo guns than any other types of matchlocks around. That's just proof they're the best, right? They were popular in the Tokugawa shogunate, too. Oh? You're starting to understand the greatness of the Kunitomo gun!? I knew it~!! Keep on using it!

Appearance[]

Kunitomo is a slightly short young man with plain looks. His hair is dull, reddish-brown, short, worn in a straight, bobbed style, parted to his right, that curls around his face, and has a strand that stands up on top. His eyes are black, his skin is fair, and he’s most often shown with a pleasant smile.

Description of Motif[]

One of the first guns introduced into Japan passed through the Tanegashima clan and Tsuda clans and was presented to General Ashikaga Yoshiharu. Yoshiharu ordered the blacksmiths of Kunitomo Village in Ōmi Province to copy the matchlock gun, and Kunitomo Village became prosperous as Japan’s representative in firearms production. Most importantly, Kunitomo Village's ties ran deep with the Tokugawa family; as well as the blacksmiths under Tokugawa shogunate's employ receiving orders for “standardised firearms”, their relationship with the shogunate lasted for over 250 years. Many Kunitomo matchlocks are said to be masterpieces, overflowing with the characteristics of refined, practical beauty.
